All of the recent talks over the new 4G networks means little without devices to harness the power of these new powerful networks. In comes the HTC Raider a 4.5-inch, dual core powered phone that is the first LTE phone in Canada to harness both 4G LTE and A Dual Core processor.

The book starts off with an introduction which describes one of the author’s personal experiences—He lined up for nearly an hour to check in at Aria hotel, one of the trendiest hotels in the city. Hehad arrived after a 6-hour flight from New York and the last thing he wantedwas to waste another hour waiting in line, so he pulled out his BlackBerry andtweeted: ‘No Vegas hotel could be worth this long wait. Over and hour to check inat the Aria :(’ Aria didn’t tweet back but Rio Hotel, a competitor, did.

Exactly one year ago, Samsung unleashed on the world a phone that would reshape not only the Android landscape but the smartphone market as a whole. The Samsung Galaxy S was a screaming success carrying Samsung to a great end to 2010 and into a whole lot of momentum for 2011.

On July 25, we hosted our first ever Technophilic Conference on communicating research. We invited guest speakers Dr. Michael Rabbat, Dr. Joe Schwarcz and Dr. David Secko for an informative and entertaining trio of talks that covered how to best communicate scientific research to scientists and to the general public.

Not too long ago Motorola innovation was stagnating and they were, in some way, living off the success of its extremely successful and RAZR line of ultra thin feature phones. Their first forays into the world of smartphones were difficult and they were looking to jump start slowing business. That boost came with the advent of Android as a major player in mobile tech. Today we see the latest incarnation of Motorola's Android powered assault on the tech world, the Motorola Atrix 4G.

The wireless industry is seeing the convergence of high speed wireless data connections, powerful handheld devices and clashing tech/wireless giants. Most consumers are somewhat oblivious to these forces, so one could ask why they should care. They should care because all these aspects of the mobile world coming together have resulted in a wireless experience that we, as consumers, have never seen before.

It is not uncommon today to meet competent and enthusiastic software developers who, despite seemingly possessing every single quality required to create good software, miserably fail at generating money with their products.

The Internet has become integral to our lives. While it is arguable whether its advent is nothing but beneficial, it is nevertheless the driving force behind one of the next great frontiers in technology. This new movement is that of smartphones.
